Who’s ready for a little friendly competition?
From June 1st through August 31st, we’re hosting a referral challenge to see which members can bring the most new faces into the Carefree Boat Club family! The top 3 members with the most successful referrals will each receive a gift card to the restaurant of their choice on the lake! And as always, every successful referral earns you 1 free month of dues — no cap.
We’re celebrating 15 incredible years on the water and kicking off another summer of fun in true island style! Throw on your favorite Hawaiian shirt and come hungry — King of Fire food truck will be serving up delicious pizzas, we’ll have games ready to play, and a special guest dropping in!

If you boat on both Lake Norman and Lake Wylie, keep in mind that the shoal and hazard markers look different on each lake. Lake Wylie uses white floating buoys with orange diamonds to mark dangers, while Lake Norman has permanent pylon structures with white and orange diamond signs labeled “Shoal.” Please be careful while navigating the different lakes.
Please note that all watersports equipment is offered on a first come, first serve basis. While we do our best to accommodate all requests, availability can vary based on demand—especially on busy weekends!
Check out the Float LKN and Float LKW app—it’s a great tool for navigating the lake! The app lets you save your favorite restaurants and points of interest for easy access later. You can also create and customize your locations on the map, whether it’s a peaceful cove for relaxation, a perfect wake surfing area, or a popular hangout spot. With the Float LKN/ LKW app, you can quickly see your exact location on the lake and stay updated on the latest lake news, water levels, temperatures, and weather forecasts.
Based on recent feedback we are updating our policy to give you more flexibility when boating with your pets. Your dog is still welcome on all pontoons at no additional cost. However, for those who want to bring their dog on a bowrider, we’re now offering an optional pet fee of $250 for the duration of your membership. This fee helps cover the cost of replacing the bilge pump or addressing other significant issues that can happen due to pet hair buildup, especially common on bowriders. Please keep in mind this is not an insurance fee—any damage or excessive cleaning required after your outing will still be your responsibility.
We’re excited to share that two brand-new Benningtons are headed to Tega Cay, bringing even more comfort and style to your lake days. While our Kings Point members can look forward to a new Avalon, a Bennington, and a Regal bowrider joining the fleet! We’re always excited to bring new boats into the fleet for our members to explore, cruise, and enjoy.
To our Tega Cay boaters, members can park in the designated Carefree Member spots with a Carefree pass but all of your guests must park in the top lot. While guests don’t need a Carefree pass, they must park in the top lot, as towing is being enforced. If you’re a member and don’t have a pass or the designated spots are full, please park in the top lot with your guests.
To all of our Kings Point boaters, please remember to display your parking pass when parked at this location. If you do not have a parking pass, please see Carolyn in the office and she will issue you one.
